Stages
Below is a list of stages returned by the terminal during a transaction, along with their meaning and description:

| 1 | CHECK REQUEST DATA | The terminal checks the received request data from the call and returns a response. No customer interaction needed. |
| 2 | CARD HANDLE | The terminal displays the “Present the card” screen. Customer interaction needed. |
| 3 | PIN HANDLE | The terminal displays the “Enter PIN” screen. Customer interaction needed. |
| 4 | PROCESSING DATA | Applicable only for “Slave” mode. The terminal uses the caller's connectivity to transport specific data to the HOST and receives a response. This stage can be repeated as many times as needed. The terminal will display relevant screens during the process depending on the executed call. No customer interaction needed. |
| 5 | PROCESSING OUTCOME | After successful communication with the HOST, the terminal returns the response in this stage. |
